This half day course (three hours) is suitable for a range of professionals who come into contact with young people, such as youth support workers, school or college support staff, childrens centre workers, housing workers, connexions workers and community workers.

Drugs and alcohol use by young people has and is continuing to change.

This course will help you to understand the types of drugs young people use and why they use them.

Provides underpinning knowledge towards the following DANOS units:

AA1: Recognise indications of substance misuse and refer individuals to specialists

AD1: Raise awareness about substances, their use and effects
